Now that you've got a resume you like and that you think will appeal to the employers in which you're interested, what do you do with it?
This answer may be better provided by job hunting seminars. You'll find several opinions about how to best go about finding your new job.
My personal opinion is that you should get your resume in as many of the right hands that you can however you can. This may include:
Friends who can refer you
And, anything else you can think of. Carry copies of your resume with you everywhere you go, even if you keep them in your car. It may serve as a door-opener, it may simply substantiate a direct mail piece you've sent out, or it may keep you in front of employers you'd like to make sure know your name.
The very last thing you should do with your resume — and this is an on-going exercise — is keep it up-to-date. You never know when someone you'd really like to work for might ask you for a copy. Even if you're not looking.
